A tracking link is a plain or cloaked URL tagged with a source identifier so that clicks, opt-ins, and sales can be attributed back to the specific exchange, safelist, or ad that generated them.
Why it matters to marketers
Without separate tracking links per source, you're guessing which of your ten traffic exchanges is actually worth your time. Use a different tracking link for every site you promote on, and review the numbers regularly — this is the single biggest habit that separates marketers who scale from those who guess.
