Do I need an account to browse?

No. Browsing, searching, reading guides, and viewing listings are all free and open. Accounts for favorites, ratings, submissions, and claims are opening soon.

What does the status dot on a listing mean?

Active means the site answered a recent check and looked like a genuine traffic source. Unverified means it hasn't been re-checked recently. Reported dead means members or our own checks flagged it as down — treat those with caution before joining.

How current is the directory?

Listings are periodically re-crawled for uptime, platform, and domain details, and members can report dead links at any time from a listing page. See “Reporting a dead link” below for how that feeds back into a listing's status.

Is submitting free?

Yes — submissions will be free. A submission becomes a free-tier listing once approved. Verified and Featured are optional upgrades you can add afterward.

Can I submit a site right now?

How long does review take?

Most submissions are reviewed within a few days. You'll see the listing's status change from pending in your submission history once it's approved or rejected.

Why was my submission rejected?

Accepted Answer

The most common reasons are a duplicate domain already in the directory, a site that no longer resolves, or content unrelated to traffic exchange, safelist, mailer, PTC, or similar categories.

Why do I need to verify the domain?

Accepted Answer

Anyone could otherwise claim someone else's listing and edit it. Domain verification is the same proof-of-control model used by Google Search Console and most SEO tools.

Which verification method should I use?

DNS TXT is fastest if you can edit your domain's DNS. Meta tag works if you can edit your homepage's <head>. File upload works if you have FTP/file access but not DNS or template access.

My verification check failed. Why?

DNS changes can take time to propagate — wait a few minutes and retry. For meta tag and file checks, confirm the exact token was pasted without extra whitespace and that the page isn't cached by a CDN in front of your site.

I don't control the domain anymore. What do I do?

Use the report link on the listing to flag it, or contact support@trafficos.pro — we handle disputed or abandoned claims manually.

What does Verified add to a listing?

A visible trust badge on the listing page and directory cards, and eligibility for the “Verified” embeddable badge described below. It does not delete or replace the free listing — it's an upgrade to the same entry.

Do I have to pay to claim or edit my listing?

Accepted Answer

No. Claiming, editing details, and click analytics are free once you own a listing. Verified and Featured only affect trust badges and placement.

Can I change my rating?

Yes, from the rating panel on the listing page — submitting again replaces your previous rating rather than adding a second one.

Can a site owner remove a bad rating?

No. Owners can respond to reviews on their own listing but cannot delete member ratings. Contact support if you believe a rating violates the Terms of Service.

What happens after I report a listing?

It enters an admin review queue. If confirmed, the listing's status changes to reported dead, which is shown to other members before they join.

I'm the owner and my listing was marked dead incorrectly. What now?

How do I get a badge for my listing?

Claim your listing (see “Claiming & domain verification” above) and open My Listings in your dashboard. Every claimed listing has a Badge panel with a live preview, a variant and light/dark style picker, and copy-ready HTML and BBCode snippets.

What badge variants are available?

Listed is available to every claimed listing. Verified requires an active listing above the free tier. Member rating appears once your listing has at least one rating, and shows the live average and count. Online since is backed by your domain's registration date where we have it, or your listed founding year otherwise — it's the one variant a site owner can't inflate themselves, which is what makes it worth displaying.

How do I install the badge?

Paste the copied HTML snippet anywhere in your site's template — it's a self-contained image and link, no script tag or external CSS required. A BBCode version is also provided for forum signatures, which is common in this niche.

Does the badge stay up to date automatically?

Yes. The image is generated on request from your listing's current data, so a rating badge updates itself as new ratings come in — there's nothing to re-copy or re-paste.

My badge shows a broken image. Why?

This means the listing no longer qualifies for that variant — most often a rating badge on a listing that has since lost its ratings, or a Verified badge on a listing that dropped out of an active status. Open the Badge panel in your dashboard and pick a variant the listing currently qualifies for.

Is the link in the badge a paid or “nofollow” link?

It's a plain, free editorial link — the same kind as any other citation. We don't sell links or trade badges for ranking, and we never will; that would make the badge worthless as a trust signal for everyone, including you.

Can I see how much traffic my badge sends?

Yes — the Badge performance panel next to the badge builder shows loads, visits sent, click-through rate, and which of your pages the badge was seen on.

Will the badge slow down or reflow my page?

Accepted Answer

No. It's a single small SVG with its width and height set in advance, so the space is reserved before the image loads.
