Definition

Bounce rate measures single-page, no-interaction visits. A high bounce rate on a squeeze page means visitors arrived and left without opting in or clicking anything.

Why it matters to marketers

Exchange and safelist traffic naturally bounces at a higher rate than search traffic, since a meaningful share of visitors are other marketers surfing for credits rather than reading your offer. A very high bounce rate combined with near-zero time-on-page is a sign to test a faster, clearer above-the-fold hook rather than assume the traffic itself is worthless.
