Splash Page

A brief intermediate page shown before the main offer, usually to build curiosity or qualify interest before the visitor sees the pitch.

Definition

A splash page sits between the ad click and the full sales or squeeze page, often with a single line of copy and one button ('Enter Site' or similar). It's shorter and less structured than a squeeze page — it doesn't necessarily collect an email, it just gates entry.

Why it matters to marketers

On traffic exchanges, a splash page can filter out the pure credit-surfers who click through anything from the smaller number of visitors curious enough to read a full sentence. Use it to warm up cold exchange traffic before sending it to your real squeeze or lead capture page.
