A hit is the exchange's unit of exposure — one credit spent equals roughly one hit delivered, though sites vary on whether a hit counts only after the full timer (e.g. 15-20 seconds) elapses or the moment the page loads.
Why it matters to marketers
Hits are attention, not action — most surfers are clicking 'next' as fast as the timer allows to earn their own credits, so raw hit counts overstate real engagement. Use hits alongside click-through rate to judge whether a site's traffic is worth your credits, rather than treating hit volume alone as success.
